Kansas Made Products Web Site Launched

Two Montgomery County residents, Tom Schwarz of Independence and Jim Correll of Coffeyville have launched KansasMadeProducts.com (http://www.kansasmadeproducts.com/) as a resource where wholesalers of Kansas Made Products can connect with retailers that wish to sell Kansas Made Products.

“In our research, most of the existing web sites relating to Kansas products are targeted toward the consumer.” says Correll. “We think that when retailers in Kansas are looking for Kansas Made Products to sell in their stores, there should be an online resource that specializes in listing Kansas Made Products that are available on a wholesale basis.”

Registering to be included in the directory consists of completing a simple online form with contact and product information along with a “Kansas Made Claim”. Potential retailers of the products can review the product information along with the “Kansas Made Claim” and determine the suitability for their target markets.

“It will take a few months to build a critical mass of wholesalers in the directory, but as the directory grows, retailers should begin to find the site too.” says Schwarz.

A Kansas Made Wholesaler can be any business looking for retail outlets that can make a valid “Kansas Made Claim”. The list of Kansas Made Wholesalers can include, but not limited to, crafts people, food processors, manufacturers, and authors.

Jim Correll has owned and worked in small businesses for the last 25 years, starting with a professional photography business in Western Kansas in the 1980's, followed by 15 years in manufacturing, working in areas of purchasing, planning, contract administration and database management.
